The Vía de la Plata is an ancient route that connects the North and South of Spain, with its stretch from Plasencia to Sevilla being particularly iconic. This journey spans approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) and traverses a variety of landscapes, from the mountains of the Sierra de Béjar to the plains of the Sevillian countryside. We propose an easy e-mountain bike or mountain biking bike adventure through lonely paved roads and easy paths in one of the country’s lesser-known yet picturesque areas.
Along the way, travelers can enjoy charming towns such as Cáceres, renowned for its impressive historic center, and Mérida, famous for its Roman ruins. The route offers not only a physical journey but also an immersion into the rich history and culture of the region, featuring monuments, traditions, and delicious cuisine that reflect the heritage of the civilizations that have passed through here.
Finally, upon arriving in Sevilla, travellers are welcomed by the majestic cathedral and the Giralda, concluding a journey filled with history, beauty, and spirituality. The Vía de la Plata is undoubtedly an unforgettable experience for those looking to connect with the past and appreciate the diversity of Spain.
Since most of the roads are dirt-roads, we only offer this trip for MTB E-bikes and MTB bikes.
Itinerary Overview
Welcome to Madrid: Pick up at Madrid airport. Optional Bike Tour in the old town.
Evening: Tapas and Dinner at local restaurant in Madrid old town. Enjoy local specialties and get ready for an unforgettable cycling adventure.
Overnight: 4* Hotel in Madrid.
Morning: After breakfast, transfer to Jarandilla de la Vega by van: 2 hours 40 min.
Cycling Route: Jarandilla – Plasencia. Starting in Jarandilla de la Vega, you will find yourself in a charming rural setting, where hills and fields of crops accompany you along the way. The route is mostly flat, making it accessible for cyclists of different levels. As you progress, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Sierra de Gredos.
Lunch: Local restaurant
Overnight: Stay in 4 * hotel in Plasencia
Cycling Route: Along the way, we enjoy views of rivers and streams winding through the land, as well as small villages with stone houses that look like they are straight out of a storybook. In spring, the countryside is filled with wildflowers, adding a vibrant splash of color to the landscape.
Lunch: Enjoy a meal in one of the local village restaurant.
Afternoon: Visit to the medieval town of Caceres.
Overnight: Stay in a 4* hotel in Caceres
Cycling Route: As you move away from Cáceres, you will encounter gentle hills and vast plains covered with fields of crops, where golden and green tones prevail. The path is dotted with holm oaks and cork oaks
Lunch: Stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Visit to the Roman town of Merida
Overnight: 4*hotel in Merida
Cycling Route: As you cycle, you’ll encounter vast plains and fields of crops that stretch as far as the eye can see. The golden and green hues of the fields create a beautiful contrast, especially in spring and summer.
Lunch: Stop for lunch in a local restaurant
Afternoon: Take in the panoramic views, and relax in the peaceful hotel Spa or visit the houses carved in the cliffs.
Overnight: Stay in a fantastic and traditional 4* Parador

Cycling Route: Right from the Border of Seville region , we ride from the top of the forest area of la Sierra of Sevilla to the outside of the city.
Lunch: SStop for lunch in a quaint village en route.
Afternoon: After the cycling route outside the city we have a transfer to our 4* hotel in Seville. After some tapas in the old town, a Flamenco show dinner is waiting for us to better understand the vast musical culture in the capital of South Spain.
